Privacy policy
How we handle your information on juice.radio and in our apps.
Who we are
Juice Radio is operated by Juice Belfast Limited, a company registered in Northern Ireland. We broadcast on 103.8FM in Belfast, online at juice.radio, and through our mobile apps.
For data protection purposes Juice Belfast Limited is the data controller for the information described in this policy.

The short version
We collect very little. You do not need an account to listen to us, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We use no cookies. None at all, on the website or in the apps.
- Our apps collect no personal data. No analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no tracking.
- Our website counts page views using a system that cannot identify you.
- If you fill in one of our forms, we keep what you send us so we can reply.
The rest of this policy explains each of those in detail.
Our website
Analytics
We want to know which pages people read, so we know what is worth keeping. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for this.
We chose it deliberately. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not follow you between websites. It cannot identify you, and we cannot use it to look up what any individual person did. What we see is aggregate: how many times a page was viewed, which country visitors were roughly in, what kind of browser and device they used, and how quickly pages loaded.
Because it stores nothing on your device and identifies nobody, there is no cookie banner on this site and nothing for you to opt out of.
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising trackers, social media pixels, or any other third-party tracking on this website.
Forms
We have several forms on the site — contact, get involved, complaints, and advertising enquiries. Depending on which one you use, we ask for some of the following:
- your first and last name
- your email address
- your phone number
- the area you are in, or the reason for getting in touch
- what you would like to tell us
- for "get involved", the kinds of activity you are interested in
We store what you send in a database operated by Cloudflare, and we send ourselves an email notification so we can respond. We also record the country your message came from, which our hosting provider tells us, because it helps us spot automated spam. We do not store your IP address with your message.
Our forms include a hidden field that people do not see and automated systems tend to fill in. If it is filled in, we discard the submission without storing it.
Hosting and security logs
The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As part of delivering the site and protecting it from attack, Cloudflare processes technical information including IP addresses, request times and browser details. This is standard for any website and happens whether or not you interact with us. Cloudflare acts as our processor and its own privacy practices are described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Music information
The "now playing" and "recently played" features work by reading the track name from our own audio stream, then looking the record up with Deezer and, if that fails, Apple Music, to find the artwork and release details. Those lookups are made by our servers, not by your browser — the music services are not told anything about you, and album artwork on the website is served through juice.radio rather than loaded directly from them.
Our mobile apps
Our apps do not collect any personal data. There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software of any kind built into them.
The only thing the app stores on your device is your preferred stream quality, which stays on the device and is never sent to us.
The app asks Android for these permissions, all of which exist to play the radio:

Unlike the website, the app loads album artwork directly from Apple and Deezer's image servers. This means those companies can see your device's IP address when artwork loads. They are not told who you are or what you are listening to.
The app also links out to our Facebook and X (Twitter) pages. Once you follow one of those links you are on their service and their privacy policy applies, not ours.
When you listen
Our audio stream is delivered by Revma, a service operated by RCS. When you press play — on the website, in the app, or through a smart speaker — your device connects to Revma's servers directly, and Revma receives your IP address as a necessary part of sending you the audio. This is how all internet radio works.
Listening on 103.8FM involves no data collection at all. FM is a one-way broadcast; we have no way of knowing who is tuned in.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

Some of these providers operate outside the UK, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by the safeguards those providers have in place, such as the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to — for example in response to a valid request from a regulator such as Ofcom, or a court order.
Why we are allowed to do this
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. Ours are:
- Legitimate interests — responding to your enquiry, running and securing our website, understanding in aggregate which pages are read, and dealing with complaints. Our interest is in operating a radio station and replying to people who contact us; we have considered this against your interests and think it is what you would reasonably expect when you write to us. Our page-view statistics identify nobody, so they affect your privacy very little.
- Legal obligation — where we have to keep records, such as under our Ofcom licence.
We do not rely on consent for anything on this website, because we do not do anything that requires it.
How long we keep things
- Form submissions: [retention period to be confirmed — we suggest 24 months], after which they are deleted.
- Complaints: kept as long as our Ofcom licence obligations require.
- Page-view statistics: aggregate counts only, retained by Cloudflare for six months. They contain nothing that could identify you.
- Our play log records what songs we broadcast. It contains no information about listeners.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask what we hold about you, and get a copy
- have mistakes corrected
- have your data deleted
- object to or restrict how we use it
- receive your data in a portable format
- withdraw consent where we relied on it
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Cookies
We do not use cookies. Not on the website, not in the apps. There is nothing to accept, nothing to reject, and so no cookie banner.
The website does remember two things in your browser's local storage: the volume you set and whether you chose the higher quality stream. These stay on your device, are never sent to us or to anyone else, and exist only so the player behaves the way you left it. Clearing your browser data removes them. The app remembers your stream quality in the same way, on your device.
Children
Our website and apps are general audience services and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will say so on our website.
